OLTIN Sulphate of Potash (SOP)
OLTIN Sulphate of Potash (SOP)
Sulphate of Potash (SOP), also known as Potassium Sulphate (K₂SO₄), is a premium-quality, chloride-free potassic fertilizer that supplies potassium and sulfur to the crops. It is particularly useful for chloride-sensitive, high-value crops and soils with high salinity.

SOP caters wide range of users, from field crops to orchards and crops under drip irrigations. Starting form 2024, the state-of-the-art plant of IKF produces SOP with minimum Chloride content which makes it most attractive. Within short span of operation, IKF Oltin SOP has became most exported product by number of countries. From American continent & Africa to Europe and Asia, SOP has been supplied to more than 10 countries

Key Characteristics of SOP
Nutrient Content
Nutrient Content

SOP typically contains 50 % potassium oxide (K₂O) and 17-18 % sulfur (S) in sulphate form. The Oltin brand by Indorama Kokand Fertilizers ensures less than 1 % chloride content, making it ideal for chloride-sensitive crops.

Available Forms
Available Forms

Available in powder, or water-soluble crystalline forms, with granule sizes typically <1 mm for soluble application. The Oltin brand SOP is offered in granulated form for spray application, ensuring precise and even distribution.

Benefits
benefit no 1

Supplies potassium, which enhances stem strength, disease resistance, drought tolerance, and improves fruit and vegetable quality (e.g., color, flavor, and shelf life).

benefit no 2

Provides sulfur, essential for protein synthesis, enzyme function, and oil production in crops like oilseeds, cabbage, and onions.

benefit no 3

Low chloride content ( <1 % in Oltin SOP) minimizes toxicity risks for chloride-sensitive crops like tobacco, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and potatoes.

Application
Application

SOP is applied as a basal or top-dressing fertilizer via broadcasting, banding, fertigation, or foliar spraying. It is ideal for high-value crops such as fruits (e.g., grapes, citrus), vegetables, tobacco, tea, coffee, and nuts. Typical application rates range from 100-200 kg/ha, depending on soil tests and crop needs. Oltin SOP is recommended for foliar feeding and drip irrigation for crops requiring precise potassium and sulfur delivery.

Production
Production

SOP is produced via the Mannheim process (reacting potassium chloride with sulfuric acid). The Oltin brand, produced by Indorama Kokand Fertilizers in Uzbekistan, uses high-quality raw materials which are sourced/produced in the same production facility in Kokand using modernized facilities to ensure consistent quality and low chloride content ( <1%).
