OLTIN Ammoniated Single Super Phosphate (ASSP)
OLTIN Ammoniated Single Super Phosphate (ASSP)
ASSP or Ammoniated Single Super Phosphate, is a phosphate-based fertilizer produced by treating Single Super Phosphate (SSP) with ammonia. This process neutralizes free acids in SSP and enhances its nutrient profile, making it a popular choice in certain agricultural contexts, particularly in regions like Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan & Tajikistan due to specific soil conditions.

ASSP is one of major product of IKF, primarily catering the domestic market of the Republic of Uzbekistan and neighboring CIS countries. Having 17 % phosphate, 1 % nitrogen and other micronutrients, ASSP serves the phosphatic need of the cotton and wheat growers of the countries.

Key Characteristics of ASSP
Nutrient Content
Nutrient Content

ASSP typically contains phosphorus (P2O5), sulfur (S), and calcium (Ca), with some nitrogen (N) introduced through ammoniation. The exact nutrient composition includes 17 % P2O5 and 10 % sulfur, 0.5 % Magnesium (Mg) with 1 % of nitrogen

Available Forms
Available Forms

Available in granulated form, with granules preferred for mechanized application due to ease of use.

Benefits
benefit no 1

Provides essential phosphorus for root development, flowering, and fruiting.

benefit no 2

Supplies sulfur, which is critical for oilseed crops (e.g., cotton, rapeseed, groundnut) and pulses.

benefit no 3

Improves soil fertility in phosphorus- and sulfur-deficient soils.

Application
Application

Commonly used as a basal fertilizer during sowing, applied via broadcasting or seed-cum-fertilizer drills. Mostly used for Wheat and Cotton in Central Asia though particularly effective for crops requiring sulfur and phosphorus, such as legumes and oilseeds as well. Application rates depend on soil tests but generally range from 450-540 kg/ha.

Production
Production

ASSP is made by reacting SSP with ammonia gas in a granulation process, followed by drying and screening to achieve uniform granule size (typically 1-4 mm). The process reduces moisture content and ensures a stable, free-flowing product.
